Benchmarking is about improving oneself by learning from
others. It is a regular comparative assessment that involves
identification of outstanding practices. Benchmarking can
be done either internally (within the organization) or externally
(among different organizations - nationally or internationally).
The best in class practices are selected and used to set
target goals.
• Selecting
and coordinating participants.
• Carrying out
comparative studies on selected diversity related topics.
• Promoting openness
while learning from each other.
• Encouraging
sharing of information.
• Helping organizations
understand it is not a “quick-fix” exercise.
• Getting a
clearer understanding of the wider picture.
• Uplifting their
performance.
• Avoiding wasting
time re-inventing the wheel.
• Getting a forum
for brainstorming solutions to common problems.
• Evading making
mistakes already made by others.
• Finding a way
to involve staff in change processes.
• Getting an
insight into the best of the best practices in diversity.
Together with the participating organizations,
DCP will take a step by step process through the benchmark
exercise and follow-ups. We will provide you with advice
and guidance in implementation of the identified best practices
with a closer look at their transferability and your context.
We guarantee you that you will emerge diversified!
We begin by carrying out a needs assessment using our free-of-charge
ONE-DAY DIVERSITY ASSESSMENT TOOL.
Together we shall identify your priority areas. Thereafter,
you will join your Benchmark Group. A benchmark group can
be formed through DCP's own initiative or by request from
organizations. Organizations are grouped using a given criteria,
for instance:
• By sector.
• By shared interests.
• By location -
national or international.
